EatCrow
A temporary world of petrol, oil and braaing at the edge of Cape Town—portraits of limbo, where speed and ritual hold the complicated world at bay.
Every second Saturday, the Tygerberg Raceway became its own weather system. Dust hung over the oval, engines erased conversation and families assembled a weekend world from folding chairs, braais and the promise of impact.
Eat Crow stays with the spectators rather than the spectacle. It looks for the gestures around the race: anticipation, camouflage, boredom and belonging. The photographs hold a place that existed intensely, temporarily, and on its own terms.
